What AI Misses

Performance:

  • XR runs at 72–120 FPS. Assets must be lightweight. AI generates for "looks good" not "runs on Quest 3."
  • You optimize. You reduce. You LOD. AI doesn't.

Spatial consistency:

  • In XR, scale and proportion matter. AI can produce objects that look wrong in stereo or at wrong scale.
  • Test in-headset. Always. AI can't.

Interaction design:

  • Can the user pick this up? Does it react? Does it fit the interaction model? AI generates static content. You design the experience.
  • Interaction is human-led. AI assists with assets.

Platform specifics:

  • Quest, Vision Pro, HoloLens — different constraints. AI doesn't target. You do.
  • Validate on device. Every time.

The Workflow

  1. Generate — Use AI for first pass. Set constraints if the tool allows (poly count, format).
